Ok, this is edited in afterwards. So that the lot of you don't have to read all of the comments to get the idea behind it.
The Damage part does not come from the red as you would think. The red is symbolic of love in this case and the black is the damage. The red is what love is left in this abstract heart...

Daily DeviationSomewhat Damaged by ~akira5400 really captures the essence of emotional pain. Anyone who's ever suffered from a broken heart can relate to the stark but simple reality of this piece. As humans we assign values and emotions to colours and that's really where the power lies in this work. The remaining red area of the heart gives us hope that ,in time, we may love again. Well, to be honest the damaged part comes of the black. It symbolises a heart and the red is what love is left in it..
I don't really know where I got the idea, I just painted and this is what I painted. I'm weird like that =/

At first it kinda reminded me of an ear =P , but I like the idea behind it, and the way you painted it....it's like ''Tangled Lies''.
